I’m remembering my good old Nissan Navara Crew-cab Pickup. Known as the Frontier in the States! Navara is a sorta soft badge for a bad-ass pickup truck. – But this ride really only resembled a pickup in a way. Sure it could carry stuff back there in the tiny bed. We moved a few times with this bewdy of a truck. Carried whatever we wanted it to. But we always considered it more of an attention-getting Sport 4×4 than a PU. Had this truck about fifteen years. Though it didn’t seem that long. Good times! She’s missed.

Nissan Navara (Frontier) Versitility

Yeah this guy drove his frontier eleven years and then couldn’t take it no more! He Off-Roaded it! Did a fine job of it too. Great Driving Truck! U can read what happened to the Yellow Dog Below this vid. ~;0)  Video Source:  MetalGwar

What Happened to the VivaChas Nissan Navara?

Yeah some of me pals ask where’s the Nissan? – – – “Someone else has his hands on her steering-wheel,” I say. – No! You Sold Her!!? – Yes! – What happened? – – – “I killed her!” – Blew the engine to smithereens!! – Yeah! – The Pickup I thought would always be mine is in someone else’s garage. I blame meself! – Years of hard driving finally finally broke her heart. – No! They shout! – Yep! – Spun the rear main bearing. Engine’s shot!

One of me mates says, “Wait a minute there Chas!” – Why didn’t you rebuilder? – “Couldn’t” I sez. Trashed the lower end. She’s shot. She’s gone! – “Couldn’t you put a new mill inner?” – Naah – Dealer wanted 10 grand to do it. – “How bout someone else!” – Nah! – They wanted $7500 to put in used! – “Couldn’t you’a done her your own self?” – Naah – Still cost five grand to do it meself. Prolly take me two-years to do it! – Worked out best.

Who’s Got the Old Yellow Dog Now?

“Yeah – who’s got the old yellow dog?”, they asked. – Young guy sez I. A mechanic. A Nissan mechanic bought it off me as a roller. Said he was glad to get it. (Guess So!) Been wanting a nice looking Nissan Navara Crew-cab for his very own. Take his young family on trips camping and to the Coast once he’s dropped a new mill in her. And by new we mean a low miles pull from a wrecking yard. Few months spare-time weekend work and it’ll be back on the trails again! He’ll do it right! It’s worked out for the best! – Sniff! ~;0)

Should I Have Mentioned the Transmission?

Yeah – Should I have mentioned the transmission was wonky? – “The Tranny Too?” they shouted as one!! – Haa! – Yeah – Well and the Clutch – third one innit! – Haaaz!! – Yeah well – It was a Roller!! – One of the bunch, a newbie, said, “What’s a Roller?” – Everybody turned on him and stared him down. – “Sorry”, he said. “I’ll Goggle it.” – Yeah – I continued. Wish I hadn’t dropped a ton of Dollars in her the month b/4 she wheezed! – No! Sez the Bunch! – Yeah got about half of it back when I sold her. Still – got fifteen yonks outer. It’s Okay! ~;0)

Yeah – “Whatcha gonna do now?” sez Wayne. – All eyes was on me as I told em bout me new ride. – Yeah – bought a 77 Ranchero. – “Does it Run?” – Yeah Runs Okay. I’ll make sure it’s a goer. Only gots 76,000 on her. – “What Colour?” – Orange and Black GT. Pretty straight ride. – Didn’t pass State Inspection though. – “Why Not?” the mob demanded! – The high-beam indicator light don’t work. Gonna have to pull the instrument cluster. Gotta pull the steering-wheel to do that. Oh – and the brake lights don’t work. – Windshield’s gotta crack innit. Gotta few pounds of Arizona sand in her. Otherwise nice ride! – It’s Fourecks time!!!

Gonna Plasti-Dip the Ranchero!

Yeah got to make that Ranchero Black!! Using Plasti-dip! Watch this video on the doing of it! – Haa! – Wish I could move as fast as those kids in the vid! That’s youth for you! – Haaaz! – Reckon I’ll be needing a few gallons of the stuff to cover the Ranchero! And I’ve got the spray equipment so no worries! – Naturally there’ll be an article here a Hot Rodney’s on the project!
