Dick Fitch & Tom Torget of the Fredericksburg club and HCAC members,
Bill WIngate, who is helping arrange the parade sent this e-mail with an attached map a couple of weeks ago with regard to the parade tomorrow. I will get there between 3:30 and 4:00 as Bill would like to have some time to line us up and get all the veterans loaded in the vehicles. The map is a bit confusing to me, but we will be meeting in a parking lot before getting in the lineup so I am sure we can all find each other.
Yes, the weather changed so for the open cars like mine maybe we should bring some blankets in case the vets need them to be warm. This is a great thing to be doing for all our vets ( I happen to be a eight year AF Captain vet myself) and I could not thank all of you enough. To the Fredericksburg club I promised to do likewise for them sometime.
See you there,

This is the parade route approved by the Kerr PD, Once formed up on Jefferson, the parade will proceed down Jefferson and End at Courthouse. We will allow any of your guys who wish to display their cars after the Parade to Park in front of the Courthouse, or they can Pull through, let their passengers out then exit the court house grounds. Of course we hope they decide to stay and enjoy the Festival after the Parade on the courthouse grounds
What time is your meeting on Sunday? I might be able to attend and give a few more details, and answer questions. Let me Know.
Attached is a map of the parade formation area as reviewed and approved by KPD (I met with Asst. Chief and LT yesterday). KISD has given permission to use the large parking lot at B.T. Wilson Sixth Grade Center for parade use. School asks that area be clear until 3:30 PM as school dismisses at 2:50 PM and parents pick up children in this parking lot.
Check-in will be on North St. just off Tivy St. Start of parade will really be at A St. and Jefferson St. due to keeping Jefferson St. open during formation.
My tentative plans for formation are as follows:
Cars to pickup WWII veterans park at the front of B.T. Wilson parking lot (in lot, not in street)
All bands, JROTC, youth group marching units on Aransas St. between A St. and Tivy St. This is a large paved area.
City, county, PD, FD, VIP, lead color guard, and a few others on Aransas St. between A St. and Jefferson St.
Majority of floats and other entries at the back of B.T. Wilson parking lot, on A St., and North St.
Overflow area if needed to be Gilmore St.
Let me know if you have comments or questions. We need to submit official parade permit application- Who does this- Paul?
